Designing online surveys using SurveyMonkey

Surveymonkey

No software to install, no complicated instruction manuals. Just open a browser and create a survey!

SurveyMonkey, a cloud-based online service, is a simple but very effective tool enabling anyone to create professional online surveys quickly and easily. With SurveyMonkey you can select from over 15 types of questions to include within your survey, and numerous survey templates are available in a variety of categories.

SurveyMonkey enables you to validate answers, set restrictions on the numbers of responses and set cut-off dates. The service allows the analysis of data in real time, the browsing of individual responses and the downloading of results in various formats.

The service is quite easy to use after an initial introduction; we suggest that you attend one of our introductory courses held throughout the year, in preparation for using SurveyMonkey. Details on the next available course can be found at http://isservices.tcd.ie/training/ and some introductory podcasts can be viewed via http://isservices.tcd.ie/training/surveymonkey.php.

The SurveyMonkey introductory course highlights the core features of the service and guides you through a step-by-step process in how to create and publish a simple survey, collect responses and use the internal features within SurveyMonkey to analyse the collected data.

SurveyMonkey has negotiated a 25% discount with Trinity College Dublin for all users activating or upgrading to an annual subscription. Details on SurveyMonkey licencing are available from http://www.surveymonkey.com
