Support for Mac OS X Mavericks (OS X 10.9)

Mac OS X Mavericks (OS X 10.9) was released by Apple on 22nd October 2013 and IS Services are testing this operating system in regard to its compatibility with the College data network and IT systems.  For this reason Mac OS X Mavericks is not currently supported by IS Services for use on the College data network, either in College offices and labs or on the TCDconnect service.

In particular we advise against staff upgrading to Mac OS X Mavericks until our testing is complete and any possible issues have been identified.  An issue with Outlook following the upgrade has already been identified which can lead to the loss of email data. We are also aware of issues with Western Digital software used with their external hard disks, which can result in data loss.
