Release of Windows 10 – support statement

Windows 10 is being released by Microsoft on July 29th 2015 and IS Services are preparing to test this operating system in regard to its compatibility with the Trinity data network and IT systems.  For this reason Windows 10 is not currently supported by IS Services for use on the Trinity data network, either in offices and labs or on the TCDconnect service.

For those with personally-owned computers, Microsoft are allowing one year from the release date for people who are running certain versions of Windows to take advantage of their free Windows 10 upgrade offer.  Our recommendation is not to upgrade to Windows 10 for the present time.

IS Services will provide status updates our Windows support statement web page regarding the progress of our testing with Windows 10, and we will also publish details to this blog.

SPSS Licence Codes, July 2015 to July 2016

Note that as this page is ‘local’ access you may be prompted for your Trinity username and network login password if accessing it from outside the College network.

ESET NOD32 anti-virus software is now recognised on the TCDconnect service

ESET NOD32 is now recognised by the TCDconnect service during the registration and scanning process. This broadens the range of supported anti-virus applications for those connecting to the TCDconnect service, while retaining the high security aspect of the service.  See our web pages for a full list of recognised anti-virus software.

If you are using ESET NOD32 and experience any issues registering for the TCDconnect service, please book into a network clinic.
